A ceiling of stars that carries on down the walls, a moon lit from inside standing taller than a person, and an astronaut floating out of the wall beside it. Deep blue velvet seating along one side, a long black stone table with candles down the middle, chairs in the same blue. The projection is usually a galaxy turning slowly. A neon sign on the far wall says “fasten your seatbelts, we are taking off”.
Deep navy walls, slatted wood, a whale in relief with light coming out from behind it and a round porthole full of moving bubbles. Fishing net and jellyfish across the ceiling, blue neon running the length of it, a long velvet sofa in the dark and two soft armchairs you sink into. The projection is usually a shipwreck underwater. The quietest room at this address.
Black damask walls hung with gilt frames and garlands of roses, a red vintage car standing inside the room with its headlights on, and a sofa shaped like a pair of lips in crimson velvet. Green carpet, black marble tables, a red crystal chandelier and a neon sign that reads “just such a strong love”. The projection is usually a sunset over water. People propose in this room.
Deep green and crimson walls, arches packed with flowers, a hanging swing seat and a neon sign reading “this is my paradise”. Velvet seating around a low table, warm light coming from behind the greenery, and a waterfall on the projection wall. Bright, loud, and the room guests photograph most at this address.
Terracotta walls, roof tiles over the doorway, strings of small bulbs across the ceiling and a deep green velvet sofa under them. Olive trees in pots, a neon sign in script reading Secret Italy, candles on the table. It looks like the hour after dinner in a small town, which is exactly what it is for.
A loft of brick and raw concrete with two crystal chandeliers hanging over a long banquet table, deep green and navy sofas along the walls and a neon sign of a music note. Warm light low down, cold light above, and the table long enough for twelve without anyone touching elbows. This is where the slow dinners go.
Deep blue textured walls, a black velvet sofa with gold cushions, brass detailing and a Secret sign in neon. The projection is a city at night from above. Dark, grown-up and deliberately understated — the room people book when they want the film to be the loudest thing in it.
Navy velvet from floor to ceiling with a gold Secret sign in script across it, two tall columns of moving water lit from inside, fishing net and a mirror ball above, and a long oval marble table with brass candle rings. The projection is a wave breaking. Big enough for a party, calm enough for two.
Not sure which
Two people go in Luna or Ocean. A proposal goes in Romance — people have done it there more than once. A slow dinner goes in Brown or Tsunami. Paradise is the one that photographs best, and Italy is the one nobody wants to leave.
